A beginner's work in progress.......

Are the reports true that the dubya dummy has gone back to the bottle? He's a drunk and a druggie who was reportedly sober for a number of years. Is he hittin' the booze again? I wouldn't be the least bit surprised.

Some people say that any president who takes a drink now and again is not a problem. I agree. EXCEPT dumbya. A sober drunk cannot take one drink. Regardless, he's out of control, anyway. I am not the least bit surprised. He's got blood on his hands, and blood money in the bank.

Bush's Depression: Been There, Reported That
By DOUG THOMPSON

Depressed and demoralized White House staffers say working at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is “life in a hellhole” as they try to deal with a sullen, moody President whose temper tantrums drive staffers crying from the room and bring the business of running the country to a halt.

“It’s like working in an insane asylum,” says one White House aide. “People walk around like they’re in a trance. We’re the dance band on the Titanic, playing out our last songs to people who know the ship is sinking and none of us are going to make it.”

Increasing reports from the usually tight-lipped staff of the Bush Administration talk of a West Wing dominated by gallows humor, long faces and a depression that has all but paralyzed daily routines.

“If POTUS (President of the United States) is on the road you can breathe a little easier for the day, knowing that those with him are catching hell and the mood will be a little easier in the Wing (West Wing) until he returns,” says another aide.

Capitol Hill Blue began reporting on Bush’s mood swings and erratic behavior in June 2004 but the stories of an erratic, moody President circulating within the White House were ignored by the “mainstream media” until recently. Now more and more outlets have begun to report on what many administration staffers say is a President out of control.

“A president who normally thrives on tough talk and self-assurance finds himself at what aides privately describe as a low point in office, one that is changing the psychic and political aura of the White House, as well as its distinctive political approach,” Jim VandeHei and Peter Baker wrote in The Washington Post over the weekend. “Aides who never betrayed self-doubt now talk in private of failures selling the American people on the Iraq war, the president's Social Security plan and his response to Hurricane Katrina.”

That sentiment is echoed by former Republican Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.

“I think the Administration realizes the larger system has failed,” Gingrich says. “They are not where they want to be on Iraq. Katrina was an absolute failure."

“It's a standing joke among the president's top aides: who gets to deliver the bad news? Warm and hearty in public, Bush can be cold and snappish in private, and aides sometimes cringe before the displeasure of the president of the United States, or, as he is known in West Wing jargon, POTUS,” Evan Thomas wrote in Newsweek on September 19. Thomas talked to “several aides who did not wish to be quoted because it might displease the president.”

Thomas went on to report “Bush can be petulant about dissent; he equates disagreement with disloyalty. After five years in office, he is surrounded largely by people who agree with him…Late last week, Bush was, by some accounts, down and angry. But another Bush aide described the atmosphere inside the White House as "strangely surreal and almost detached." At one meeting described by this insider, officials were oddly self-congratulatory, perhaps in an effort to buck each other up. Life inside a bunker can be strange, especially in defeat.”

To regular readers of this web site, this should sound all too familiar. Here is what we reported on June 4, 2004:

“Worried White House aides paint a portrait of a man on the edge, increasingly wary of those who disagree with him and paranoid of a public that no longer trusts his policies in Iraq or at home. ‘It reminds me of the Nixon days,’ says a longtime GOP political consultant with contacts in the White House. ‘Everybody is an enemy; everybody is out to get him. That’s the mood over there.’”

Last year, the naysayers said we got it wrong.

But they got it wrong.

Again.

And we got it right and ahead of everyone else.

Again.

Yes, we're gloating. We all too often read reports in the big boys and have a feeling of deja vu because we're already been there and reported that.

Sorry, dabe, but this is just crap, the worst kind of rumor-mongering. Believe it if you wish, as I'm sure you do, and there may even be an element of truth to rumors about the bunker atmosphere - the media have been bashing the damn administration non-stop for 5 years, after all - but the rest is just wishful thinking is my bet.

The only thing funny about this is hearing liberals talk about the evils of alcohol. Why is it bad for Prs. Bush to have a drink once in awhile but a complete lush like Ted Kennedy is a liberal hero?

"EXCEPT DUMBYA" only because of your pathetically mindless hatred for the man. Don't ever tell me about liberal tolerance, understanding or humanity. EVER. I've seen little in liberalism and less in you.

History will show GWB to have been one of the worst presidents of modern time and a president that will have a very negative impact on our nation for many years to come. He will be reguarded as the Plague on the 21st Century which is the title of my new book that I will publish just as he leaves office. It will lay out the results of his eight years in office,

I think it would be fine for Bush to drink occasionally - if indeed he's not an alcoholic. But didn't he fess up that he was once an alco? It's extremely dangerous for alcoholics to drink again after being sober for a while - far too easy to slip back into old habits. Same reason you keep the crack addict away from her candy.

But then again if he's not an alco then it's no big deal if he drinks occasionally still. I can't say I know much about his past - or particularly care.

nice innuendo and conjecture dabe, want to offer any actual proof?

Nah, that would require some real work. It's much easier to fabricate lies, spout conjecture, and repeat rumours than it is for dabe to engage her brain.

Yes Cacto, if he is an alcoholic drinking can be extremely dangerous, and I don't minimize that at all. I'm just pointing out that the politics behind Republican drinking Bad... Democrat drinking..ok.

Everyone has weaknesses, which is why our system of government doesn't give any one person as much responsibility in the system as some seem to want Prs. Bush to accept.

Turned from alcoholism by power of prayer

In September 2002, Bush invited five religious leaders-three Christian, one Jewish, one Muslim-to meet with him in the Oval Office. "You know," he said, "I had a drinking problem. Right now I should be in a bar in Texas, not the Oval Office. There is only one reason that I am in the Oval Office and not in a bar. I found faith. I found God. I am here because of the power of prayer."
Bush seldom refers to his drinking days & almost never acknowledges how close he came to wasting his life altogether. Although he was born to wealth and privilege, up until 1992 his career was a study in failure.

In that confessional conversation, Bush told the clergymen that his favorite psalm was Psalm 27, one of the Bible's most searing statements of loneliness and remorse.

There is nothing divine about the American political process. Yet leadership remains the greatest mystery in politics. Bush was hardly the obvious man for the job. But by a very strange fate, he turned out to be the right man.

I sometimes envision a fascist future, where those who opposed fascism and fought it will be officially regarded as a plague that was luckily exterminated.

Will your book mention the fact that fewer people die in Iraq and that Lybia gave up its WMD program? Will it talk about renewed democracy in Lebanon and about the first president to speak of an independent Palestinian state?

All of these things hurt the fascists.

You write your book. Don't forget to mention how it was a disaster for your people that Saddam Hussein had to stop murdering Kurds and Shi'ites.

There is a big difference between a "drinking problem" and being an alcoholic.

Capitol Hill Blue began reporting on Bush’s mood swings and erratic behavior in June 2004

This moron Doug Thompson seems to think of himself in third person. When he refers to the website "Capitol Hill Blue", he is speaking of himself, the author of said website. I guess you consider your source irrefutable if your source is yourself?

Jeez Dabe, this is like you writing an anti-Bush blog, then creating a new article and citing your previous article as a source. What the crap kinda reporting is that?

I'm sure this Blue Ridge mountain boy has really got his finger on the pulse of Washington and let's not forget he seems to have the inside track on the feelings of the bulk of Bush's aides as well. For Christ's sake Dabe, CNN's liberal reporting is suspect, now you've gone and dug up some moron living in the Blue Ridge mountains who expects one to believe that he is the inside man of Washington politics.
