A beginner's work in progress.......

Today, the New York Times enthusiastically endorsed John Kerry for president. A summary, in part:

"The Bush White House has always given us the worst aspects of the American right without any of the advantages. We get the radical goals but not the efficient management. The Department of Education's handling of the No Child Left Behind Act has been heavily politicized and inept. The Department of Homeland Security is famous for its useless alerts and its inability to distribute antiterrorism aid according to actual threats. Without providing enough troops to properly secure Iraq, the administration has managed to so strain the resources of our armed forces that the nation is unprepared to respond to a crisis anywhere else in the world."

I know many here will dismiss this as just lefty rhetoric provided by a lefty rag, but in fact, it's one of the most informative newspapers in the country. Of course, I wholeheartedly support their endoresement. It's a good article. So, I am providing this link.

*grin*

It was a good article, but you can't really be surprised that the NY Times endorsed Kerry.

The day the WASHINGTON Times or the Wall Street Journal endorses him, then I'll be shocked.

Me, too. Of course.

Aye, how is it the left in itself is never enough? It always has to insert that "McCain or Hegel supports this or that."  Reminds me of Nixon's blistering criticism of China for twenty years and therefore was lauded for visiting it as only he could without flak.

NY times endorsement means little these days. It's gone so far left in the past few years that it's like getting Michael Moore's endorsement.

Is objectivity not even something news outlets try to have anymore?

I wouldn't go quite that far, Drag, but yeah, I agree that it's pretty much expected that the Times will endorse the liberal -- they're not really swaying any undecideds here.

It's very popular in Paris.

HAH! Good one, Steve. Glad we can all keep our sense of humor through all this.

The NYT remains one of the most respected newspapers in the country and throughout the world.

Except whatever happened to Freedom of Press and Objectivity in reporting, guess I will never look at the NY Times again for that.

It may be respected, but like Drag said, its so far left, its like getting endorsements from Micheal Moore.

I wonder who the New York Post is behind.... hmmmmm.... I wonder....

It is not surprising that NY times is behind Kerry. When was the last time NY Times endorse a Republican?
