I thought about putting this in the Humor category (for about 1/10th of a second), but decided it belongs in Politics. Three Texas surgeons were playing golf together and discussing surgeries they had performed. The first said, "I'm the best surgeon in Texas. A concert pianist lost 7 fingers in an accident. I reattached them and 8 months later he performed a private concert for the Queen of England." The second said, "That's nothing. A young man lost both arms and legs in an acc...

"Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel." - Samuel Johnson "Merchants have no country. The mere spot they stand on does not constitute so strong an attachment as that from which they draw their gains." - Thomas Jefferson "The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it comes strong than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism - ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controll...

This is no joke. We get horsie idiots for FEMA, doggie doctors for Womens Health, and f*cktards in the white wash, I mean house. Planned Parenthood Federation of America Interim President Karen Pearl issued these comments on the appointment: "The appointment of Dr. Norris Alderson, a man who has spent the majority of his career in the office of veterinary medicine, to the position of acting director of the FDA's Office of Women's Health speaks volumes about the priority the Bush a...

It astounds me when dubya proclaims, rather pointedly, and in the hopes that people will like him better than the less than 40% who like him today, that in spite of the huge federal spending program that will occur to clean up after Hurricane Katrina, he's not going to raise taxes. Huh????? How can this be, you ask? Well, it can not be. He is a liar. It's typical dubya speak, pulling his speeches out of his ass (Rovian style) to dupe people. But, people are beginning to resent getting...

A day late. A dollar short. And, thank God. I guess now he'll go work for his ol' buddy, Allbaugh, at Halliburton.

It's like adding insult to injury. First FEMA furks up the job of disaster relief. But, that's not enough for them. No. They have to funnel FEMA payoffs to their buddies and cronies and other asswipes that the dubya dummies call their friends. But, this example goes beyond the pale (whatever that threshold is), and is a slap to every American, and certainly to every victim of the Katrina disaster. This story is the stuff of corporate cronyism and outright fascism. I invite you to read ...

"I Have A Dream" By Martin Luther King, Jr. Delivered on the steps at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. on August 28, 1963 .... Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed. Let us not wallow in the valley of despair. I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I stil...

Question: Is Dick Cheney Dead? Monday 5th September 2005 Missing VP raises health questions again by Greg Lloyd Smith WASHINGTON, D.C. -- (OfficialWire) -- 09/05/05 -- Is it just me or is someone missing? Thinking out loud, has anyone noticed that U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney has not been heard from recently? Oh, I know, he’s on vacation, but no interviews, no photo-ops, nothing. I would have thought that we should have heard his take on the recent debacle in New Orleans or a...

Myrrander first mentioned this Alaskan bridge pork barrel some time ago. In another blogsite, which I shall not make known, it was just brought up again. When are people going to wake up to the absolute criminal activities of this administration. It's a government gone awry, completely. It starts: How can you have $250 Million dollars for a bridge in Alaska that services 2000 people and you can't complete a levee project in NO to protect the people and infrastructure of one of the...
